crazy banned Nike ad

Damn this ad is crazy, I don't really understand why it was banned, and what does nike do with the ads that they do not use?? where do they go??

Ads and art continued

W.K. interact is another really cool artists that has done ads for nike and other companies. Although these ads that have been created be these amazing street artists are they as effective as traditional commercials for all the different publics?? check out www.wkinteract.com lots of great stuff.

graffitti and ads

Recently, urban aesthetics and graffiti have become very popular among youth culture. Like most business's advertising has tried to take advantage of this trend and use it in their ads. For example, Sprit had an ad campaign that made a bunch of ad that used graffiti like script, basketball and a urban setting. Another artist, who also does graffiti David Choe has gotten big contracts from Adidas and other companies to make ads for them. Anyway I just think this guy is real sick, the stuff he does and his style is really killer. It proves that ad companies do outsource for artists to create ads for them.

blog on blog

yup I'm gonna be that guy,, writing a blog on blogs. but seriously, what is the deal why are blogs such a big deal. I supposed that it is a extremely easy why to voice opinions and give information but really why do people care all that much about what I or anyone else has top say about ads or whatever. I think the only reason why I am negative about blogging is because recently I was told that portfolios without blogs are more likely to be discarded that portfolios with blogs or links to blogs. What is the deal? How are blogs important to portfolios all of the sudden, especially if no one reads them. If someone could explain that I'm all ears.

art/ad where is the line

most artist would probably categorize advertising as not being art but some of the ads really do cross the line between art and just a straight forward ad. For example, several years ago BMW did a series of short films with big name directors and used them as online ads/short films. Are these films considered ads or creative film making?? Or both, can they even be both an ad and a creative film at the same time. I believe that the answer is yes ads can be creative and effective as a display of the product. That may be where the heart of the debate between ads art arts lies, because ads glorify a object does that destroy the artistic merit of the art or film making behind the ad??

Head on

have you seen the head on commercials, anyway these ads really are rather annoying.. head on apply directly where it hurt, over and over again,,, but the advertising team behind the annoying ad campaign have done something really smart. First of all by creating a really annoying commercial, people remember the product because the commercial is annoying. The people behind the head on commercials took it a step future. They recognized that their commercials are annoying and they took advantage of that, they used that to give their product more credibility. They used regular people during their commercials who come out and tell the viewers that the commercial is annoying but that the product is effective. The creators of this ad were quick to recognize what people thought about their ads and made a small adjustment to change their ads and give their product more credibility and make the ads they had less annoying.

24

Why do stars give products more credit?? really why would a big movie star give a cookie more appeal, I just don't get it. Don't blame the actors for selling out. Instead point the finger at the lame creative team behind this ad, , The cookie could have been made just as good looking by any actor why did they need a big, expensive actor?? That to me seems like a waste of money. This ad was cheap and effective if you speak spanish.
